Confirmation
Confirmation marks the point in the Christian journey where those who have been baptized as children make a firm and personal commitment to Christian discipleship. Through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop, the Church also asks God to give those being confirmed power, through the Holy Spirit, to live the life of discipleship.
Preparation: Those seeking confirmation will be expected to take part in a preparation course. Depending on the age of the participant it may take different forms.
Generally speaking participants should be a minimum of 12 years of age. The reason for this is simply that they are confirming their own faith and so need to be able to be mature enough to make that decision.
